Our Structure In Detail How BUCC Is Formed

Team officers can be any refugee or asylum seeker who volunteers to hold this position for six months and is elected by the club members to do so. Team officers are expected to treat all club members with dignity and respect at all times. Elections will be held for these positions every six months. Where possible and to support diversity, we will try to ensure there is a balanced mix of male and female team officers and that different nationalities are represented. Team Officers can be elected to be the BUCC Club Leader.

BUCC Club Leader

Profile :

The BUCC Club Leader position can be held by anyone from any nationality, age, religion, or gender who meets the criteria below.

  1. Must serve as a Team Officer and be elected by the other Team Officers to fill this position.
  2. Must understand, speak and read English language fluently
  3. Must be an active club participant for at least six months.
  4. Must have worked for at least six months as a volunteer Team Officer or Team Educator.
  5. Must not have been charged with any crime against human rights.
  6. Must be actively committed to human rights and the rights of refugees and asylum seekers.
  7. Must be computer literate
  8. Must have effective leadership and communication skills (previous leadership and management experience is desirable but not essential)
  9. Must be prepared to complete the relevant application forms.

Responsibilities :

  1. Manage, evaluate and guide team officers
  2. Arrange and preside meetings for the team officers, team educators and team supporters.
  3. Arrange and preside meetings between the BUCC and club supporters.
  4. Arrange appropriate training and learning opportunities for team officers and team
  5. Arrange and oversee elections for team officers every six months.
  6. Ensure there is an election for the leader of the club position once a year.
  7. Prepare reports on the club activities at least once every six months, or to reflect the needs of supporters.
  8. Effectively represent the BUCC at external meetings, including those about human rights and refugee or asylum rights.
  9. Organize special events as needed.

Team Educator Officer

Profile :

The BUCC Education Team Officer position can be held by anyone from any nationality, age, religion, or gender who meets the criteria below

  1. Must understand, speak and read English language fluently
  2. Must be an active club participant for at least six months.
  3. Must not have been charged with any crime against human rights.
  4. Must be actively committed to human rights and the rights of refugees and asylum seekers.
  5. Must be computer literate
  6. Knowledge and experience of education, teaching, training and / or adult learning are highly desirable.
  7. Strong communication and leadership skills are desirable
  8. Must participate regularly and actively in the weekly team meetings.
  9. Must be prepared to complete the relevant application forms.

Responsibilities :

  1. Collect and analysis relevant data by surveys and / or interviews.
  2. Develop project plans for the activities of the BUCC based on the data collected.
  3. Manage Mentor weekly program
  4. Coordinate the club schedule with team educators.
  5. Deputize in the absence of the Club Leader as needed.
  6. Arrange and manage special events with other team members as needed.
  7. Participate regularly and actively in the weekly meetings.
  8. Participate in and support BUCC events.

Team Membership Officer

Profile :

The BUCC Team Membership Officer position can be held by anyone from any nationality, age, religion, or gender who meets the criteria below

  1. Must understand, speak and read English language fluently
  2. Must be an active club participant for at least six months.
  3. Must not have been charged with any crime against human rights.
  4. Must be actively committed to human rights and the rights of refugees and asylum seekers.
  5. Must be computer literate
  6. Strong communication and leadership skills are desirable.
  7. Must participate regularly and actively in the weekly team meetings.
  8. Must be prepared to complete the relevant application forms.

Responsibilities :

  1. Recruit new members for the BUCC
  2. Develop and implement a membership-building program.
  3. Recruit and induct educator members.
  4. Coordinate and build positive relationships with BUCC members, refugees and asylum seekers in Bangkok and their host communities.
  5. Recruit and induct team supporters.
  6. Coordinate with and build positive relationships with team supporters.
  7. Arrange and manage meetings between team supporters and the team officers.

Team Public Relations Officer

Profile :

The BUCC Team Public Relations Officer position can be held by anyone from any nationality, age, religion, or gender who meets the criteria below

  1. Must understand, speak and read English language fluently
  2. Must be an active club participant for at least six months.
  3. Must not have been charged with any crime against human rights.
  4. Must be actively committed to human rights and the rights of refugees and asylum seekers
  5. Must be computer literate and have basic graphic design skills.
  6. Strong communication and leadership skills are desirable.
  7. Experience and knowledge of working on communications with the media and on social media are desirable.
  8. Photography and documentary skills and experience are desirable.
  9. Must participate regularly and actively in the weekly team meetings.
  10. 10. Must be prepared to complete the relevant application forms.

Team Finance Officer

Profile :

The BUCC Team Finance Officer position can be held by anyone from any nationality, age, religion, or gender who meets the criteria below

  1. Has basic mathematic and accounting skills, including adding and subtracting.
  2. Must understand, speak and read English language fluently
  3. Must be an active club participant for at least six months.
  4. Must not have been charged with any crime against human rights.
  5. Must be actively committed to human rights and the rights of refugees and asylum seekers.
  6. Must be computer literate
  7. Strong communication and leadership skills are desirable.
  8. Experience and knowledge of economics or accounting are desirable.
  9. Must participate regularly and actively in the weekly team meetings.
  10. Must be prepared to complete the relevant application forms.

Responsibilities :

  1. Manage the BUCC accounts
  2. Prepare finance report every six moths
  3. Prepare finance report every six moths
  4. BUCC banking arranging, including depositing and withdrawing for reimbursements.
  5. Obtains and files valid receipts for all BUCC expenses (e.g., snacks and supplies) using an organized system.
  6. Keeps track of and monitors and records all BUCC income and expenditure by using a receipt book, or checkbook register.
  7. Provides monthly finance reports during team meeting, including account balance, income and expenditure.
  8. Collects dues from the members as required. Dues are small membership fees which may be requested to fund group activities when needed.
  9. Shopping for the club.

Team Secretary

Profile :

The BUCC Team Secretary position can be held by anyone from any nationality, age, religion, or gender who meets the criteria below

Responsibilities :

  1. Takes roll call / register at the beginning of the meetings to record who has attended and maintains these records for the BUCC.
  2. Takes minutes (notes) about what happens and actions during the meetings.
  3. Reads the minutes from the previous meeting, so that people remember what was accomplished last time.
  4. Keeps good records of Club activities. This includes maintaining a folder of attendance records, meeting minutes, and a calendar of important dates.
  5. Reminds members to attend meetings via phone, email, or social media.
  6. Supports other club members and team officers as needed.
  7. Manages to Club property.
  8. Coordinates Club meetings and classes y.
  9. Attends and minutes management and other meetings as necessary.
  10. Acts as receptionist as needed.

Profile :

Team Assistant positions can be held by anyone from any nationality, age, religion, or gender who meets the criteria below:

  1. Must understand, speak and read English language fluently
  2. Must be an active club participant for at least six months.
  3. Must not have been charged with any crime against human rights.
  4. Must be actively committed to human rights and the rights of refugees and asylum seekers.
  5. Must be computer literate.
  6. Strong communication skills are desirable.
  7. Technical knowledge associated with the relevant team is desirable.
  8. Experience and knowledge of economics or accounting are desirable.
  9. Must participate regularly and actively in the weekly team meetings.
  10. Must be prepared to complete the relevant application forms..

Responsibilities :

  1. Deputizes in the absence of the Team Officer / Club Leader as needed.
  2. Support the Team Officer / Club Leader as needed with all reasonable requests.
  3. Participate regularly and actively in weekly meetings.
  4. Participate and support club events as needed.

The BUCC offers its supporters the chance to contribute to helping refugees and asylum seekers in Bangkok to make a positive change in their own lives and to assist others to do the same. Many of these people have experienced suffering and are deeply committed to helping others, passing on the skills and the lessons they have learnt in their lives. Our supporters are varied and include partners or individuals from NGOs or CSOs, private sector or social enterprises, charities and foundations, schools, universities and educational institutions. They share a commitment to human rights, and particularly to the rights of refugees and asylum seekers. Responsibilities :

Our supporters help our club in a number of ways, including:

  1. Providing the club with a venue to meet.
  2. Supporting and providing training or mentoring for our team members (team officers and educators)
  3. Providing our club with resources (financial and non-financial)
  4. Supporting discrete activities.
  5. Supporting or providing training or learning opportunities for club participants

    Profile :

    1. Must have specific skills relevant to the needs / interests of refugees and asylum seekers in Bangkok.
    2. Must be able to teach / instruct others in these specific skills
    3. Must understand, speak and read English language fluently
    4. Must be actively committed to human rights and the rights of refugees and asylum seekers.
    5. Knowledge and experience of education, teaching, training and / or adult learning are highly desirable.
    6. Strong communication and leadership skills are desirable.
    7. Must be prepared to complete the relevant application forms.

    Responsibilities :

    Our supporters help our club in a number of ways, including:

    1. Teach / train participants of the club specific skills.
    2. Develop a class schedule as part of the club activities.
    3. Complete the lessons you have committed to in the schedule.
    4. Assess the learners as appropriate.
    5. Write a brief report on the outcome / outputs of your teaching / trainings.
    6. Be on time in the classroom.
    7. Discuss resource requirements with the Education Team Officer in advance of your lessons.
    8. Attend educator and other training as needed.
